How I work
My process is shaped by balance between making and unmaking, structure and memory. These five steps define the path of my work.
CONCEPT
I translate inspiration into concepts shaped for each project. I select aggregates, pigments and processes that echo the site’s character and the client’s vision. Each idea begins with a short moodboard phase before moving into the studio, where techniques and samples define the right surface. Every concept bridges the gap between found memory and the new future space.
FOUNDATION
Layers anchor my work. Whether plaster, metal or other materials, I build surfaces in a multi-layer process. Even those layers that remain unseen are as important as the visible ones; they create depth and ensure the finished wall holds time.
SURFACE
The surface is the visible expression of the process. A finished artwork ready to inhabit your space. Sometimes a motif recalls fragments of old walls and facades; other times it is an abstract play of color.
PATINA
Patina is the final chapter. A considered sequence of taking away and adding. Through sanding, washing and scratching, the material is revealed and sometimes worked over and over again. Imperfections are embraced so each wall keeps evolving and remembering.
